Washington DC…Home of Our Government

Washington, DC ~ Home of our government ~ but it seemed like no one was home this time.  Everywhere you could see for 2 days, REALTORS were visiting their Legislators.  We were talking about MID, GSEs, FHA but it almost seemed like no one was really listening, and if they were, they were not holding out much hope for our issues or anyone else’s for that matter.

Oh they recognized us, and gave us information but the feeling I got was basically some kind of mental deadlock.  Oh they were discussing the issues and paying attention to us but  down deep, not that  much was going to happen.  I kept hearing, “We don’t think anyone will do that this year but I can’t guarantee it.” or “I really don’t think they will go there, or it will never get through Senate or House”.

Some might think our visits are futile!  Nope, never say die.  It is like Chinese water torture…we have to keep coming at them over and over again.  Persistence. The more we lobby, the more inroads we make.  But we have to keep at it.  We cannot be discouraged. We can make a difference.
