Here a Leader, There a Leader, Everywhere a Leader

Just returned from Florida Realtors CEO Symposium.  And as the title says, there was leadership from almost every local Association around the state.  I made new friends and saw old friends, it was an amazing time.  The Symposium is a time for the Association Executive and their new leadership to come together and plan the year ahead.  We learned ways to develop our local and state leaders, keep our enthusiasm level high and always keep the members out in front.

After the CEO Symposium, we went into a Legislative Strategy Session with the
Government Affairs Directors from the associations around the state.  Amendment 4 was discussed in depth –  we need a big push on it from each and every Florida REALTOR.    Click on the Link of the Week on the right hand side of this post and take a look at the questions and answers on Amendment 4.  Start the conversations with your buyers and sellers, with your neighbors, friends and family ~ we need everyone talking about Amendment 4 and then Vote Yes on 4 in November.  We need each and every one of you to be the Vote Yes on 4 leaders in your communities. Here’s the Bottom Line on Amendment 4:

  • Amendment 4 creates an additional homestead exemption for first-time homebuyers for 5 years.
  • Amendment 4 protects Floridians from increased property taxes when their property values have declined.
  • Amendment 4 lowers the maximum yearly assessment increase on non-homestead properties from 10 percent to 5 percent.

All in all it was an amazing week with incredible new leadership ~ 2013 here we come.  Oh by the way, the weather was beautiful in St. Petersburg, although I only glimpsed it from a window!

Until next Monday…
