We don’t think much of the reasons behind July 4th. Nowadays, we have barbeques, go to the beach, shop, visit with our families or just hang around the house. We can do just about what ever we want to do, because 13 colonies fought in the revolution for our independence. On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, 2 days later, its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, the historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. So July 4th is the birthday of American independence and we have celebrated it ever since. To this day, our young men and women continue the time honored tradition of fighting to continually keep us free.
And so as you shop, sit at the beach, eat barbeque or just hang out at home, know that you are able to do whatever you want to do because our ancestors and our young men and women fought and died so that we may exercise our right to freedom. The next time you see a soldier, no matter where you are, thank them for their service.
God Bless America and Happy Birthday!
Make it a great week…let’s be good to each other…let’s be REALTORS®
Until Next Monday…
